What is Peak Period?
Peak Period is when DMaF Lab enters it’s busy period and in order to allow us to provide a safe and effective workspace, we monitor capacity limits in the Timber and Metal lab.
Peak Period Arm bands must be worn in Timber and Metal Lab.
How do I get a Peak Period arm band ?
Arm bands work on a first-in-first-served basis. Please visit the lab on the day to collect an arm band.
How do I wear my Peak Period arm band?
Your Peak Period arm band must be worn and visible, alongside your DMaF Competency Card.
What if there are no bands available?
Arm bands work on a first-in-first-served basis. You will need to periodically check to see if someone has returned their arm band and finished using the lab.
What do I when I am finished?
Please return your arm band to the rack.
What if I’m coming back to use the lab after lunch?
You need to return your arm band to the rack before lunch.
What if I didn’t return my arm band before lunch?
You will lose your spot and go to the back of the walk-in queue.
Can I share my arm band with my friend?
No, you will each need your own arm band.
I want to access the Dig Fab areas (Laser cutters, 3D Printers), do I need an arm band?
No, you will only need it for Timber and Metal Lab.
What if we are doing group work, do I need a Peak Period arm band?
Each student must have their own arm band.
I want to use the Spray Booth, do I need an arm band?
Arm band is not required for the Spray Booth.
I only need some sandpaper, do I need a Peak Period arm band?
We will have sandpaper at the front desk.
Can I ask the technician a quick question?
You will need a Peak Period arm band to be in Timber and Metal Lab.
